Navman Telemetry Monitoring

For many of today’s organisations, simply knowing where vehicles are located is not enough. They want to know what the status of the vehicle is, what it is doing, what is happening. This is often referred to as Telematics and our solution can allow you to know almost anything about your vehicles. From the temperature of a refrigerated compartment to whether the headlights are on or off.

Telematics is a widely used term that refers to the remote monitoring of systems on a vehicle for diagnostic purposes. At Navman, we call this telemetry monitoring and it is a solution tailored to the specific needs of each individual customer. Depending on what information you need relayed from the vehicle Navman can customise a system to meet your telemetry requirements.

This is made possible through a smart connection hub that we call the ConEx. The ConEx provides multiple input/output connections and can be adapted to connect probes and sensors into your tracking unit on the vehicle. Common uses for the ConEx and telemetry monitoring include:

  • Temperature alerting for refrigerated freight (too hot / too cold)
  • Weight recording for waste or haulage trucks
  • Time and location of doors open for buses
  • Time and location of hydraulic loading ramps in use
  • Sweeper arms in operation for street cleaners
  • RFID time and location recording
  • Brakes on/off
  • Headlights on/off
  • Auxiliary motor on/off
  • Panic Alarms
  • Remote door locking and unlocking
  • And much more. Essentially any system that you need to monitor, Navman can devise a solution for you.
